Meet Jeff Lee

Jeff has been with Merchants for just over 31 years!  He cares about his customers so much and has built amazing relationships with them. Over the last several years, Jeff has become a mentor to the sales team and relays his knowledge to the newer team members.

Q: Can you tell us a bit about your background and what brought you to merchants.ca?
A: I have been working in Distribution for 36+ years and was recruited by the Sales Manager at merchants.ca 31+ years ago. 

Q: What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
A: Traveling

Q: Do you have any hobbies or interests that you’d like to share?
A: Ice hockey over the colder months and golfing during the warmer months. 

Q: How long have you been in sales and what has your journey been like?
A: Graduating from University, I never would have imagined a career in Sales spanning 33+ years. 

Q: What do you enjoy most about your role at merchants.ca?
A: Both the business and personal relationships I've developed throughout my 31+  years at merchants.ca.

Q: What is your favorite part of working with merchants.ca customers?
A: Getting to know how each of those customers operates and what differentiates them from others, big or small. 

Q: How do you approach building relationships with your customers?
A: Building their trust by developing problem solving skills. 

Q: What do you believe makes you successful in your role?
A: Knowing your customers' success is your success. 

Q: Do you have a favorite quote or motto that inspires you?
A: There will always be someone on God's green earth that is worse off than you. 

Q: What do you hope to achieve for your customers?
A: Continue to service those customers to the best of my abilities that I've developed throughout the years. 

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
A: Any place across the Atlantic or Pacific Oceans just to experience a time zone different more than 3 hours.

Q: What’s your favorite book or movie, and why?
A: Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back...it checks all of my boxes for a 5 star rating. 

Q: What is the best feedback you’ve received from a customer?
A: It would have to be from Arlene Reaueme from the Dairy Freez where she went above and beyond what I had asked for in a referral.
